A large majority of homes today have internally accessed garages and these are fast becoming more than just a garage but more of an extension of the living space of the home.

Kiwis are now installing durable carpet to their garage floor space turning the conventional cold standard garage into a safe, warm, comfortable, multi-purpose area – creating not only a true extension of the home but also adding value to the property.

Along with the obvious advantage of turning the garage into a multi-purpose area, carpeting the garage is great for your family’s health and safety as it provides effective insulation and reduces the chances of someone slipping (especially when coming inside with wet footwear). It will also reduce noise (great for those home workouts) and has the added benefit of being easy to vacuum.

Of course, for those who are into their heavy machinery, automotive work or welding, it may not be the best choice. Garage carpet is for those households which utilise the garage for light-medium work.

Garage carpeting can be applied in many different areas – not only for the garage but for the laundry, home gym, home office, workshop, sleep-out, man-cave or holiday home.
